My husband and I recently adopted a dog from this shelter. We were told that he was intact and he would need to be fixed with in 120 days of the adoption. When I mentioned that I didn t see any testicals on the dog I was assured he had them. That night we received a call informing us that our dog actually had been neutered the day before we adopted him. This was concerning because he did not have a cone on and had been licking at his groin area a lot. We flipped him over at home to take a look and all of the stitches were gone. We had to take him to an urgent care vet to get stitched back up. I m very unhappy that my dog wasn t provided the proper post neuter care in the shelter nor were we made aware of his condition so precautions/ post neuter could be provided at home. Very poor care of their animals and very poor record keeping.
