the biggest problem with headless horseman is how popular they have gotten. this has, for years, been my favorite haunt in NY, NJ and PA combined. the staff is SO friendly, the grounds are huge, the props are spectacular, the story line is well written, and the village and little shops are just the icing on the cake. however, this past saturday I could not believe how they were spacing out groups between the haunts. in order for a haunt to be fully effective it needs to set the mood, headless horseman has all the material, but it completely failed on the execution. for every single attraction they send in group after group so close together you are directly behind and in front of strangers for the entire walk through. this means nothing comes as a surprise because you already saw the group in front of you experience it and so on. i had asked multiple times if we could wait a little longer before being sent in, and one employee, who was sooooo sweet and apologetic, even admitted "the owner really wants us to move people through, i know and have been getting alot of complaints". this is a complete admission of greed and intentionally putting quantity over quality when it comes to ticket sales and customer movement. the $60 ticket price is not unreasonable for what they have to see, but thats if you get a view of the actual attraction, not the millions of people they are cramming you inside with. if you do try HH, do not go on saturday or a prime weekend and you may have a better experience. sadly, I doubt i will return.
