Visited on a winter's afternoon and it was a terrific day. The animals were very active because feeding time was close by, which in my experience is the time you should aim to visit zoos. The chimpanzees and monkeys were a delight to watch. I was surprised there were so many baby animals about and I think that is a sign of the quality of the zoo.

The cafe/restaurant near the top entrance was reasonably priced and won't break the bank for small families. There are also many grassy areas to sit at if you would like to bring along a picnic.
