So... I am glad I walked out before going into finance. These guys tried to hustle me bad. I originally went to the used side, but when they needed a co-applicant I had to come back. At this point I wanted to try getting a new car first, for warranty and longevity concerns. The salesman disappeared for 20 minutes and came out excited, high fived another salesman and said to me GREAT NEWS and persisted to hug me. He said I was approved for a lease and payments met my budget, even assured my girl that it was a done deal. We took the car for a test drive and then went into the office. 20 minutes later he asked me to fill out another credit application and assured me it would not be run but would be used to get my info from the used car side. 20 minutes later my Kredit Karma app started going nuts! 4 new inquiries! The salesman came back this time no longer happy and said I did not qualify for the lease and tried to put me in an Optima instead of the Forte, 150 dollars over my monthly budget I gave them. He insisted that my report was not sent to banks and only retracted when I showed him my app. After repeatedly asking for an invoice and the rebates, I did not get them and left. IMO I did qualify for the lease but they persisted to try and shop me around to banks to get the best deal for them and withdrew the lease offer which they said was a done deal. Waste of time and should be a law against these shady practices. Something is always better than nothing.
