I've had very good experiences with physical therapists over the years, but I had an exceptionally fine experience working with Nicholas Ing last year. Nick was a new employee at Benchmark (Burnside).

My left ankle was badly broken many years ago, and it has impaired my gait significantly since then. While I got around well enough, I had to put up with a lot of soreness and fatigue if I walked any distance or if the terrain was irregular. Walking up hills was particularly difficult because of the limited flexibility of the joint. That really put a crimp in my hiking.

When I made an appointment with Nick, I wanted help with tightness and cramping in my thigh and butt that was caused by my gait. It made it hard for me to sleep.

Nick did a lot to help me with the tension in my thigh and butt, but he wasn't satisfied with that. He wanted to improve my gait by increasing the flexibility and strength of the ankle and foot. After 50 years, I was doubtful that any improvement was possible, but he proved me wrong. Within a few weeks my ankle and my foot had loosened dramatically, and they have continued to improve. I spent October in Spain, doing lots of walking indoors and in the cobbled streets. My foot, my ankle and my leg held up great. Thanks, Nick.
