Been here several times throughout the years. The views are often breathtaking and the diversity of the landscape is surprising. Winter months are the busiest time as the weather is much milder particularly in the afternoon. Plan well ahead for a trip out here. Everything is spread out. Camping and lodging in the Basin especially is limited. The area is desert and can be very unforgiving even hazardous. Still, it s a worthwhile place to visit; State Park and National. The surrounding communities are nice to visit as well. If you want to hike anything but the most basic trail you will want several days out here.
