A little too crowded in the summer. The gardens were filled with tourist and the palace itself was quite stuffy as it was packed to the brim. Get a guided tour or you ll have to queue for 2-3 hours to get in.

If you want to go to the petite trianon at the back where Marie Antoinette stayed, hiring a golf buggy is 30/hr. The train that runs between the attractions is 15mins between rides and can be a long wait if those on it don t get off to make space. A walk from the back of the gardens back to the palace itself can take 15-20min so plan for that if you have to be back to meet your tour group.
