Review of TAS, Toronto

An update to my review 1 year later:

TAS has still not completed a single repair in my unit from my PDI, with occupancy coming up on 2 years in April 2020.

They offered a financial settlement recently, but since another large item has now come in as warrantable that this "builder" is responsible to repair, that figure is not feasible and they are not willing to settle on a fair amount to even come close to covering costs for the further repairs.

I have a wall that needs to be ripped out and reconstructed

Patio door trim that needs replacing

Bathroom trim that needs replacing

A marble shower surround that needs replacing

My flooring throughout the unit needs to be ripped up, the floors leveled (I can roll a marble across my floor) and new hardwood placed (the hardwood has holes and gaps and appears different lots were used)

A sliding door was installed without being secured to the floor

TAS was given 2 deadlines by Tarion to repair the deficiencies, one deadline has passed for repair and another upcoming in 2 weeks (bathroom), which they've made clear they're not prepared to meet.

Tarion will now be taking over this case.

Be very cautious with purchasing from this builder. Lots of promises and they present well, but once they have their money, the rest of the customer care is lack-luster at best and they do not stand behind their product.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apparently to get an over 3 star rating, they've had their employees leave 5 star reviews (nice try Reg and Trish). I would offer zero stars, but that's not an option, as even 1 star is too generous.

Be very, very cautious of purchasing from this builder. The salespeople & employees are not to be trusted, and ensure EVERYTHING is in writing ... and I mean everything. They will tell you it doesn't need to be in writing, then not honour their word.

Their internal communication is horrific. Communication to their purchasers is even worse.

They don't know what they are doing and everything is so unprofessional in how it's run. We've had the police on site having to remove more trades and security workers for the most heinous of issues [mirrors hidden in elevators, knocking on doors of single women late at night wanting to be invited in, entry into occupied units without notice or intent, to name just a few]

8 months of occupancy and still not 1 single item completed on my Tarion warranty from our PDI. Not a single item.

The hide behind their ridiculous lawyers (Bratty), who are equally incompentant as TAS, so they are a perfect match in tweedle dee and tweedle dum.

There are many good builders out there, that actually take pride in the relationship they have with their purchasers. TAS is not that builder. RUN dont' walk away, from any deal you're thinking of writing with them!

They are a joke and the only thing they're good at is talking out of both sides of their mouths to appease their purchasers awhile longer, while delaying anything being completed.
