Stayed there 3 nights in November. When I made the reservation directly though then I requested and was granted a roll away. Upon check-in I was refused a cot due to it being a fire hazard in the room we had. I had to go back and forth with the front desk about this and eventually I finally got them to let me speak to management. He gave us the cot.
The room was very warm. It was 74 degrees. There is a thermostat in the rooms but it is useless, it does not xo from your room temp. I spoke to the front desk and management about this issue as well and was told it s a two pipe system and has one main control in the building. So if you can t sleep with temps in the mid 70 s I would advise staying somewhere else. This was very difficult for us as we normally like it around 67.
Location was perfect, steps to the subway and a short walk to Rockefeller center and 5th ave. A couple more things I would like to mention is the overwhelming smell of perfume in the lobby area of the hotel. It was a bit much. The showers water pressure was awful, rusty spout and no bathroom fan so by the time you re done your shower the ceiling is dripping.
Very old building that is not updated.
Breakfast was good and service all around in the hotel was great.
I don t think we d stay here again simply due to no room temp controls.
