Ernest Achenbach Review of Harrah's Resort

Harrah's in Atlantc City has been a quick-get-away destination for several years, an easy drive from home in DC. This includes the ability to bring the little pup to this dog friendly resort. Harrah's is both exciting and chill at the same time, so whatever your mood, you can find a situation to be happy.
One thing to note is that it is not close to the boardwalk, but they provide free shuttles throughout the day if you want to venture out, and of course there are taxis/ride-sharing. The casino is clean, the slots are not stingy, and the wait staff is attentive, friendly, and generally quick. Harrah's is known for its glass dome covered pool area, open year round with a constant warm weather temperature. At night the pool area turns into a dance club that hosts guest deejays and celebrities. There are plenty of food options too: quick sandwiches or burgers to more moderate and upscale restaurants, featuring Mexican, Italian, and Steak & Seafood. The Italian restaurant, Martorano's, has been a favorite with top notch martinis and meatballs, and I recommend a stop by there. The rooms are what you would expect in terms of size, and have always been clean when I gave stayed. Overall, it's a fun place and doesn't pretend to be something it's not.
