Ignorance is not bliss. We selected Laurel Land Cemetery the final resting place for my loved one. The staff claims ignorance for features and amenities that are (1) claimed in their services and are (2) table stakes in today's society.

They did not know how to play a DVD on the TV or how to set up an account for online bill pay. It is 2019. I'm serious. I'm upset because they literally claim to not know how to set up an account for online bill pay.

The long version: We made a custom tribute video for the family to view after the burial. Not only did Laurel Land not communicate with the funeral home to make sure the DVD worked with their tv, they didn't try it out and (most hurtful) did not CARE that it didn't play. The attendant was completely aloof. Aloof has no place when you are serving people who are grieving, sleep deprived and playing hostess!

To put salt in the wound, they are a member of Dignity Memorial - a large, publicly traded business in the death care industry. I literally called both the corporate office and the cemetery for 3 weeks, leaving voicemail after voicemail for various staff members with no call back and no resolution. The poor office attendant got to know me by name! To make matters worse, the corporate office states that these matters have to be handled locally. The local office doesn't call back. This is unacceptable. Now because of their ignorance and lack of communication, I'm not sure we can secure the additional plots we purchased for remaining family members.

Clearly this is a high-stress time for families. The staff personnel does not make this time easier at all. I feel taken advantage of and thrown away during a very sensitive time. Shame on you all for how you treat grieving families.
