How Will You Take Responsibility For Your Mistakes?

Dear Eden Crest,

We were planning an event for June 18th - 26th in Gatlinburg, Tennessee where we needed to rent a house that could accommodate at least 18 people together in the same house. On your website, it listed that your Swimming In the Smokies house in Gatlinburg could sleep 18 people. When we talked to your representative Mariah requesting a recommendation, she also recommended us to rent this house and she informed us it could sleep 18 people. It wasn t until AFTER we placed a deposit of $3,764.91 (half of the total rental cost) with her for this house and another one that she informed us that the swimming in the smokies house was actually still under construction and wouldn t be ready for our event. She then proceeded to recommend another 3 small cabins to replace it. The next day, Mariah informed us your company insisted we would have to pay an extra $2,844.38 from our originally agreed price with swimming in the smokies house. When we asked why we would have to pay extra, Mariah told us that it was because WE were the ones who wanted to change, thereby pushing the responsibility onto us. We believe this is a serious breach of trust and ethics in doing business. We sincerely believe it would be for the welfare of the consumers and for the benefit of your company s reputation to avoid this kind of grave untruthfulness. How will you take responsibility for your mistakes?
