First of all, any visit to Catalina Island is an adventure. Camp Cherry Valley is a great Boy Scout camp, well run but not without a few flaws. The aquatics program is superb. But the camp staff training in shooting sports and other traditional areas like Nature and Pioneering could use work. Also the SCUBA program really needs a recharge. (Honestly - you're at Catalina Island - known worldwide for kelp diving - and you offer only beach dives? Hello - get a dive boat contractor for advanced diving!)

But don't get me wrong. We had a great time and will return. I just think this gem needs a bit more polishing.
