Want to make it clear that I didn't proceed with the repair, so can't vouch for the quality of his work.

That being said, I went to get a new Bosch starter that was already purchased installed on my '13 S550. Was told he wouldn't install my part because it wasn't purchased directly from the MB dealership. The labor rates were also dealership rates. So my thing is this, if I'm gonna pay dealer part price, dealer labor rates, why am I going to a little shop in Flatbush instead of sitting in the lounge sipping a cappuccino at MB of Brooklyn?

I see a lot of reviews regarding service on cars from the 80s and 90s and can see how this place would be better for that. Because the dealers tend to shy away from fixing 30 year old cars. For later models just doesn't seem to make much sense.

Anyway, my story ended by going with another German indy shop that recognized Bosch is an OEM supplier and had the part installed in less than 2 hours. Total cost less than half of the $700 I was quoted.
