The zoo is old but always being updated, improved and expanded. I've read a lot of reviews from people complaining about not being able to see the animals due to them hiding or being asleep. I guess that's because their enclosures emulate their native environment so sometimes they're going g to be obstructed by trees or sleeping. They probably need some down from time from dealing with the public and can't constantly be on display for your viewing and entertainment. Today I had no trouble seeing all of the main attractions. I suggest to not overlook the less popular enclosures. The bird aviary and reptiles are good too and butterfly house. The place is clean with lots of space, food is reasonably priced. There are different specials every day like $1 coffee and half price meals. You can bring your own food and have a picnic. Arrive early, take your time and have reasonable expectations.
