My friends parents were forced to live here due to unforseen medical chaos. The food look inedible. His mom choked and aspirated because she wasn't fed properly. Things were stolen from their room. We never proved it but I did help report theft to KC police. The place is scary and no one is there on weekends. The Carondolet medical doctors and staff are unavailable and non-present. They ignore pleas for medical attention. Dogs in a kennel live better than people here. In my opinion, my friends' mom died from mistakes and lack of care from Carondolet Manor. He tried to partner with the administration and tried to get them to treat his parents with the care and dignity they deserved. The laundry system often is at a standstill. Sheets are sometimes not available for beds. Clothes are lost and never found. Patients go full days without being changed or asked to go to the bathroom. I'm not certain teeth were ever brushed. There is no normal socialization for any of the patients. Patients are pulled out of bed at ungodly hours in the morning so that the day shift and night shift don't fight over how much work they have to do. The administration and staff hate each other. Pleas for help are ignored. Patients languish and linger, uncared for. Pleas for partnership are ignored. Replies and response to concerns are non-existent. Very very sad and surreal place. Unbelievable that it's not closed. My friends' parents entered in April 2015 and were both dead by August 2015. One died of diabetes and was lucky enough to only be there a month. The other died of neglect and lack of care. These people we not biologically my parents, but I saw them as that.
