I am an insurance agent who had to deal with a car...

I am an insurance agent who had to deal with a car salesman at this location. One of my insureds was buying a van from him (4 1/2 hours away). The salesman called me on a wednesday and I was on another phone call at the time, he was then rude to the receptionist and told her that the customer was sitting right in front of him and he needed to speak with someone right now. So the receptionist then got another agent to help and when asked if he needed ID cards effective that wednesday, he replied "no, he's not picking it up until Friday but I just wanted to talk to someone"

I then received all the information from my co-worker as soon as I was off the phone, saw that the effective date was not until 2 days later. I did not forward him ID cards, because I could not get ahold of my insured. The following day, which is now Thursday, I received a nasty phone call from the dealer asking why he hadn't received his ID cards yet. I explained I needed to speak with the customer before doing anything, and that when I do speak with the customer, he will get the cards. Shortly after that conversation, I spoke with our mutual customer and got the OK from them to send the dealer ID cards. I did so, and still waited until Friday to upload the change to their insurance carrier.

The following Monday, I received a call from my insured stating when he arrived after his 4 1/2 HOUR long trip to this dealership, the vehicle was clearly damaged, and that was never disclosed to him. He left the dealership and had to travel another 4 1/2 hours back home, wasting his time and money getting there.
