I do not understand all of the four and five star reviews for this place. Perhaps things have changed since my husband and I stayed here two years ago.

The first difficulty we encountered upon arriving was that the entrance area to the hotel, the parking area, and the bottom few floors of the building next door were under construction. We had to unload our luggage within an active construction area and leave it in the lobby of the hotel while we went to find parking (for an additional cost) two streets away. The hotel itself seemed unreasonably busy until we noticed a sign in the lobby - "The Voice UK" auditions were taking place there.

Our four-night stay was marred by almost constant construction noise during the day and (literally) screaming people running up and down the hallways at all hours of the night. The outer walls of the hotel seemed to be paper-thin; from our room on the fifth floor, we could clearly hear the music from the night club on the bottom floor of the building next door. On our last evening there, a Saturday, we got maybe an hour or two of sleep before our long drive to Rosslare because of the raucous partying in the hallways until the wee hours.

The only two good things about our stay (hence the earned one star) were the bar and restaurant staff and the room cleanliness. Bar and restaurant staff were so friendly and such great conversationalists, we looked forward to spending our late-evenings there. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. It's too bad we didn't actually get to enjoy any peace while we were there.
