The Conrad Bali combines fabulous, friendly service and reasonable prices in an island oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Kuta. The newly remodeled room was relatively spacious -- although not nearly as spacious or decadent as the Conrad Suites which one passes by on the way to tea and cocktails every afternoon/evening -- and had a decent ocean view, albeit obscured by many a palm tree. My only complaint about the room were some slightly musty sheets, but these were quickly replaced.

As many have likely come to expect at four and five star hotels within Indonesia, the breakfast buffet is extraordinary. Breakfast food and drink to suit any and every taste overflows from all corners of the main restaurant and the service is top notch.

As a Diamond member, you will be treated to complimentary breakfast and also invited to afternoon tea and then cocktails from 3-5 and 5-7, respectively, in the Conrad Suites lounge. Once again, these options are an excellent way to relax away your time and the service shines. Havarinha, caipirosca, mojito, etc. All complimentary and even accompanied by savory nibbles from the Rin restaurant.

With more than one giant pool and ample lounge chairs with umbrellas, you can easily find yourself a spot in or out of the water all day long. There are also a plethora of trees lining one of the main pools to provide additional shade. If you want to spend a bit more, you can also obtain a cabana. Poolside service is great once you acquaint yourself with the staff. If you prefer beer, make sure to ask for a bucket of 3 or 5 to save yourself some $.

To top it all off, you can rent a jet ski right at the beachfront, or even hire a private boat to take you snorkeling for a day.
