It is a good school but to my surprise my school back home (in CH) was/is much better HDS St. Gallen). Giving all the credit to the native German teacher I had there (Gaby) who was extremely organized & focus in explaining everyday some grammar following it with exercises. We gave all the grammar in A2! Teachers here are good & put a lot of effort but in the standard course (morning part of my crash course) you are basically throw into a course and you take it from there... And the group is big.
I had probably too high expectations from GLS so now I am very disappointed. I have made the effort financially (+1000 /2weeks without accommodation) & family wise to come here for 2 weeks and unfortunately - from the Deutsch point of view - it has been not worthy so far (appreciating the time off though). Only the private tutoring is "saving" these 2 weeks... (Although let's say it: for less money - here around 85 /90mins - you can get the same results getting a great tutor online in Tandem - 22$/90mins - or any other online tutoring service...)
I regret coming? YES and no...Now I know what it is.
Will I come back? Absolutely no.
Will I recommend it? NO. No for a 2 weeks crash course... Unless you have nothing better to do at home, no high or any expectations, you don't have children to look after and spending money is not an issue.
Trying to be positive, being here is bringing me back in the mood to study German ON MY OWN so I can skip group classes for good :-)
PS: on top of all the wifi is not working well so you are disconnected & no access to dictionary :-((
