Can t even begin to explain how unhappy I am with Holmes Regional in Melbourne Florida. My father was brought in via ambulance a few weeks ago due to severe abdominal and bowel issues. Was only treated for an infection and then released without listening to his continued complaints of pain. Sent home after a bowel movement. At home he became very ill and was admitted to Viera Hospital. Emergency surgery was done on his colon where they found a large mass that was causing an obstruction and found cancer. This could have all been taken care of the FIRST time he was admitted if Holmes has just researched further. However, God works in mysterious ways because I could not have asked for a more AMAZING hospital in Viera where they truly care about their patients. The staff at Viera represent a positive and healing experience for their patients and most importantly my Dad is on the right path to recovery now and NOT in pain like he was at Holmes. It s truly sad that a hospital that had such an AMAZING reputation so many years ago has fallen to such a disturbing level.
