Excellent Gastro Pub/Hotel with fantastic staff, great quality food and warm atmosphere.

The pub itself has very cosy, friendly atmosphere. The menu was wonderful British pub food, but of a very high standard. The pie was made nearby and was excellent.

The rooms are very cosy, warm and very clean. Wonderful comfortable bed and good tasteful furnishings. Complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits are in the room.

The only drawback was breakfast: Only a light continental breakfast is available in the room which did look good. A discount voucher is available at another nearby pub if you want a cooked breakfast, which unfortunately was closed when I went there.

But never mind breakfast, I will definitely stay at the King Alfred next time I'm in Winchester!
