It was unpleasant to wait in the icy wind for well over an hour and dealing with all the people there. So i'd say make sure you buy your ticket well ahead of time and choose your time very carefully (even if, yes, the people's presence is desirable and will impact your time there positively but too many people is too many people and it also means having to queue for way too long for the lantern and some other rooms).

Go to planets first if you are planning on doing both as it is a short visit (I was there for a couple of hours vs the 8 i spent at borderless) and spend plenty of time in the crystal room there so you can save that time to explore other things at borderless.

There is no food inside so eat before you come, use their lockers, leave everything in it, you won't be cold, bring comfy shoes, and a big battery pack because there are no charging stations there.
