The Good: Morning buffet at ROCKsalt has some great food including Belgian waffles and an omelet station. In-room fridge works well. Nice hotel location next to black rock. Nice pool area. Decent selection of new gym equipment. Good WiFi. Well-maintained grounds.

The Bad: Mattresses give poor back support (we're sore every morning). The entry and bathroom floor isn't mopped between guests (ours was filthy). The A/C is a hydronic system (air blows over centrally cooled water pipes). Because of this, it doesn't remove humidity like with a typical evaporator coil (terrible for a humid place like Hawaii) and worse, it was unable to get our room below 70 degrees, even when set at 65. This made our room uncomfortable. However, the gym was even worse, with a ridiculous level of humidity. Very uncomfortable for working out. One of the main elevators is broken (right where we go down to breakfast in the morning). Breakfast is overpriced. Ten minute walk from the south end of the hotel (our room) to the gym. Lastly, the A/C in the gym appears to be covered in mold. Not what I want to be breathing while working out.

We're still on our vacation here, but overall we're disappointed with our stay and can't recommend coming here.
