Horrible customer experience. You have to book in advance, not knowing what you're getting. The place is badly designated. Since there are no time slots, too many people come at once, so it takes at least 45min of cueing to get in, which nobody warns you about beforehand. Having seen the cue, we wanted our money back, but couldn't get a refund, so we ended up cueing for almost an hour. Very unfriendly staff. Inside the exhibition is huge, but very repetitive and not really artful. It is more aimed at kids and youngsters and caters to everyone's taste, lacks artistic strength. On top of long cueing outside, 2-3 special exhibits take additional 30min of cueing inside the exhibition (really not worth it). All very flashy, lots of cheap video projections of multicolored flowers, leaves, branches and water in motion. Overall cheesy, with some corny 'omg-i'm-so-happy' cartoonish music that is playing loudly in the background. We ran through it and were done in 30min. We loved Tokyo, food, people, shopping, nightlife, culture, but this museum was the ONLY huge disappointment on our Japan trip. WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT, NOT EVEN TO MY ENEMIES.
