Such a great little zoo! Really quite a treat to see such beautiful animals right here in Shenandoah valley! You can tell the zookeepers really care for the animals, and they also strive to make the visitors' experience a joy as well. I never got to handfeed a giraffe at any other zoo!
Most of the negative reviews here are anti-zoo in general, many of which clearly from people who've never visited NBZ. If you have a problem with animals in captivity, then you won't enjoy any zoo. But the animals here seem cared-for, loved, and friendly. Definitely a recommend to both locals and visitors!
