I don't travel often but I usually compare everything to my stay at the Venetian in Las Vegas. In regards to that, I found my stay at Omni Mandalay Hotel very pleasing. The customer service and professionalism of the staff was exceptional. From the doormen to the Room service, there was nothing but smiles and an eagerness to please.
The lobby was especially warm and inviting with festive decorations accenting large gathering areas.
The bathrooms are clean with marble floor but a bit too dark in places. The shower was bit dated and plain but it functioned as expected. The best part was the amount of towels they provided. There were at least 3 big towels, 3 hand towels, and 4 other assorted towels.
They provided a blow dryer, iron, ironing board, robes, shampoo, body lotion, hand soap, and bar soap. There's snack options along with bottled water on the desk when you come in. They also provide a safe for your valuables.
There was ample space in the King Suite. My room had two televisions, an office desk, a dining table, and a small private balcony with a view overlooking a body of water I didn't get a chance to research or lounge around due to the current temperature and the brevity of my stay.
The location of the hotel is within walking distance of several restaurants but I advise renting a car so you drive while there. There's several big shopping centers with a large variety of restaurants off MacArthur Blvd.
They do have room service available even for overnight hours. The menu was limited, however, I did not ask if they would accommodate custom orders.
The parking situation was nice as I didn't have to worry about looking for an open space in their covered parking garage.
I will definitely be returning to the Omni Mandalay again in the future as I enjoyed my stay. It has been my best hotel experience in the Las Colinas / Irving area so far. I feel a one-night stay is not enough time warrant a score but for now, I'll give the Omni Mandalay Hotel a 4.25 out of 5.
