Once you have made it through the lines of all lines, ranging from 30 minutes to over an hour, the experience is relatively solid. The audio tour is very well-timed with the walking tour, typically you are not left in rooms for a prolonged period. With that said, the estate rooms/halls get congested, which can be unbearable at times. Once you're outside the palace, everything changes! It becomes apparent that the Palace of Versailles is a monstrosity. Be prepared to spend at least 5 - 6 hours here, if you want to explore all of the lodges, estates, and gardens. When you've completed the entire grounds, you'll probably blow out your shoes. There are golf carts and bicycles for adults and children available for rent, as well. The Palace of Versailles is iconic, it must be on your France travel itinerary! Arrive early to encapsulate this generational masterpiece fully.
