Chaplain Morris Jackson gave me and a group of bus...

Chaplain Morris Jackson gave me and a group of business men a tour of the facility yesterday. I was impressed with the friendly and helpful assistance that the Police Staff gave us as we entered and walked around. The facility was clean and organized. I was particularly impressed with the Learning Center and to see inmates smiling and treating each other in a friendly manner. Chaplain Morris explained that a significant number of inmates are finding hope and peace by developing a relationship with God and studying the Word of God. He went on to say that over the 26 years of his service there, he has found that by completing the program they have a much better rate of adapting back into the community. He also shared that they need quality men to be mentors to the inmates, which amplifies that success ratio. I thank God for what is going on here in our city, and pray that mature men and women will get involved in such a worthwhile effort.
