Had a tiny cut on my hand that got infected. Wait...

Had a tiny cut on my hand that got infected. Waited 2 hours in an empty ED and got charged $5000+ to write me an antibiotic script and send me out the door after being seen by a doc for less than 5 min. Thought that I got that resolved with insurance and paid the more reasonable bill of $200. 7 months later I am dealing with a new bill from them for $2000. I recommend avoiding this emergency department if at all possible. I don't want to find out what the bill would be to receive subpar care for something more serious....

Thanks for your response about transparency. How about a sign on the door that says "TREATMENT HERE WILL COST $4000 MINIMUM UNLESS YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR BEFORE GIVING YOUR INSURANCE INFORMATION." I think that would suffice.
