Dreamcore is a company at its heart, a company that provides a service, not a product. There are many such companies that provide customisation to a PC build you would like to have. And on this point, Dreamcore is currently lacking.
I chose Dreamcore for only 2 reasons. The location is close enough to travel to and the specs are close to what I would buy from Sim Lim, as I have built countless PCs before, doing so for more than 20 years but now I am too busy and just want to have someone build it for me.
Hence, my expectations are reasonable service. It was on the day after National Day (off in lieu) that I began sending a message over WhatsApp, expecting a reply the next working day. I only received a reply late in the afternoon on the next day, 6 hours after Dreamcore's opening time of 9am. For a company which has no storefront, its online presence is lacking. If I had messaged a reputable seller on Lazada, Qoo10, Aliexpress etc, I would already receive a reply within an hour on a public holiday. Unfortunately, there is a service standard imposed by the cutthroat online retail industry, and customers like me are way over pampered. You don't have to like it, but that is just how it is.
And then there was the problem with replies. I had several queries, most of which went unanswered until I probed again. I don't see how that would make a good experience.
I had also only wanted to put a deposit, and only pay the full amount when I self collect, which should be reasonable. Yet there wasn't an option to do so for self collection, and I had to ask for such arrangement in WhatsApp.
Even so, the reply wasn't clear and the online payment system couldn't accommodate, and the invoice was wrong. I requested a correction for the invoice on WhatsApp more than 12 hours before I received the email that I could collect. I went down to test and pay, only to find out that the corrected invoice was not ready, requiring "several days" and will be sent to me. I had to pay first and till this day, I still do not have the correct invoice, only the wrong one. I have not ever paid for something before I receive the right bill. I am no lawyer, but I do believe this is unacceptable without going into further details.
In the end, I received a beautifully crafted system, which I reckon I will also receive from several other companies out there doing the same. Your average score is due the quality of service I got.
P.S. Maybe set up a nicer area for customers doing self collection. It will do much for your company image.
