Proceed with caution. Purchased a used car from Toyota of Alvin for my eighteen year old daughter. On our way home from the dealership, after 41 miles, the transmission failed abruptly while in rush hour traffic on Hwy 59. Thankfully my daughter was able to get out of traffic and onto the shoulder without being struck. Had the car towed to another dealership and was advised the transmission would have to be replaced. Put a call into Toyota of Alvin and received an apology but nothing else, no offer to look at the car or even cover the tow fee. Had the transmission replaced for a tick over 4000 dollars. I will admit it was a cash sale and the car was purchaed "as is". I just feel like anyone in the so called " customer service" business as insinuated by the poster in their showroom, would've made some effort to ease the pain we went through. I will say the sales person I dealt with did seem genuinely concerned but that was little consolation. Be advised.
