This particular review is specifically for their Wildlights event, which is SO outrageously pretty that I would really recommend you try to plan for it if you're in town during it's brief run over the winter holiday season. For a limited time, the zoo opens their doors after hours to an illuminated wonderland full of nocturnal animals and glittering lights! Tickets are required, naturally, but you can buy them in advance or at the door (I believe- we got our's online in advance). The event is definitely geared towards families, so those with small children rejoice for this is an excellent outing opportunity for you guys, but for couples seeking a romantic stroll under the lights it's also pretty legit. Given that the Wildlights occurs at night, a lot of the animals are going to be napping or their enclosures closed off for the evening, but there's still a lot to see and enjoy- from hot chocolate and snacks to the few animals that are still up and at 'em. We had a blast! Will definitely make a point to go next year!
