The hotel itself is maybe only worth a good three stars as the decor is looking a little worn now as it's probably between 10 and 20 years tired. The breakfast was quite average and I had to ask twice for coffee as my initial request was obviously forgotten. However the hotel's location is obviously a premium in two significant ways. Firstly. It's right next to both Tower Bridge and also the Tower of London, for the tourist, just brilliant. However, for the business traveller, a major plus is the aspect of the hotel. If you have a room on the front of the hotel overlooking the river and the bridge then great but even if you're at the back of the hotel, you overlook St Catherine's Dock. No grotty back alley that you don't even want to open your curtains for. This is what lifts the hotel to a four star review.
