Brad Johnson Review of Google

I was very disappointed by my experience visiting Google headquarters.
I went there in July to deliver a petition signed by over 50,000 people asking Google CEO Larry Page to end Google's financing of climate deniers like Sen. Jim Inhofe. Inhofe not only calls global warming a "hoax", he has called for the criminal investigation of climate scientists. I visited Google headquarters with a few dozen local climate activists to protest Google's breaking of the "do no evil" pledge. The Googlers we met during our protest were very nice, including the security guards, when we were on public property.
However, when we attempted to deliver the petition signatures (on a thumb drive), the security guards only allowed one person to go to the front desk. When I got there, the receptionist refused to accept the delivery, refused to put me in contact with any Google officials. Her only recommendation for how the public could reach a real person at Google was for us to submit a business proposal.
My experience at Google headquarters was a real disappointment, compounded by the recent news -- undisclosed on the Google Public Policy "transparency" page -- that Google is financing the American Legislative Exchange Council, another notorious climate denial front group.
Google, don't fund evil.
