A wonderful slice of nature, culture, history, and...

A wonderful slice of nature, culture, history, and religion with a surprise dose of anthropology and (for the well informed who've done their homework) high tech imaging. Meandering trails take you to waterfalls, trickling spring-feed streams, and... wonder of wonders... ancient stone linga carvings in, around, and under the water. You must do your homework to fully appreciate this gem and to know that what is visible today is the tip of the proverbial iceberg compared to what lies buried underfoot. I was lucky to be there on a school holiday and let a group of youngsters convince me to run under the waterfall with them. We laughed as barriers of age and language dissolved beneath the torrent of cool water on our backs. A special memory I'll hold dear.
