We have never had a problem with Hampton Inn in all these years. However in this instance, the person on duty cancelled our reservation for an ocean view room that we had already paid for before we got there for unexplained reasons. By the time we checked in, all the ocean view rooms (including the one we booked) were taken. We had to be content with another room with a partial ocean view (meaning a room that opens out to the side of the tower instead of directly facing the ocean). We were quite bummed about it. But the hotel is excellently located with great amenities and the staff were courteous and apologetic for the situation (except for the aforementioned lady of course who had done her bit to make this a less than wholesome experience and who we never saw again). All in all, we did enjoy our time here. But we hope that the time and effort we expend in finding a perfect location for a getaway is not wasted by lackadaisical staff in the future.
