I wish I had grabbed the name of the manager working last night.
I ordered a take out order that was rather large. On my way to pick it up, I called them to ask if I could get a few orders of lobster sauce on the side. No problem, I was told.
Got there and there was a bit of confusion. They ran my gift card for a 14 dollar order before my actual order. The woman on the phone got confused and thought I was asking for another order of shrimp with lobster sauce, not just the sauce. Took a few minutes to figure out where the misunderstanding was, but we finally figured it out. Manager came over, refunded my gift card, processed it correctly. When it came to the extra order I didn't pay for, he simply stated "it's on the house. If you don't take it, I'll have to throw it away, but it's great the next day too. So no worries".
Firstly, one of my biggest pet peeves is wastefulness and there's so many restaurants that would've tossed it. Secondly, I wasn't upset with the situation at all, just trying to figure it out.
His candicy and humor will make me a long time customer of this location. It was very far out of my way, but I avoid old town Scottsdale at all costs, so I went to this one. He will keep me coming back.
If the restaurant wishes to respond with his name or contact me with it, I will be more than happy to contact corporate to give kudos. Awesome gentleman with a great sense of humor and willingness to understand the situation at hand. I wish I couldve tipped him directly, as well.
