A nice atmosphere, where they're known for a high selections of beers and wine. I liked the old booth from the record shop which brought back yesteryear.
I am not a person who knows alot about beer but when I asked about Telquin (which was labeled a stout) I was told by Nick that it was one of his favorites. The portion was small which did not matter, as did not finish it anyways, but none the less for 13 dollars you would think you would get regular glass of beer. Once tasted by me and my friends we agreed that it was more vinegar then hops. When this was brought to Nick's attention he explained that it was a sore stout and that is that. He did not ask if I was happy with the selection and when he turned away I made the assumption that this was my choice and drink it.
Now I have had my share of ill tasting drinks so I thought this was going down the hatch but I could not force the tongue curling liquid down. I again brought it to the attention of the bar tender and was given a milk stout which was fantastic. When the bill was brought forward the charge for my first drink was on there and it was discussed with Nick. He was well rehearsed and refused any type of refund. Even though it was his "favorite" which swayed me or the fact that he was given back a full glass.
I understand that he could not repour the ill tasting stout and my order was discarded . But is his job only to pour beer? What happened to enjoying the night for the patron or customer satisfaction. Is that not one of the reasons you go to a bar? Obviously getting the 13 ( I did offer to pay half to meet him) dollars was more important to him .
So I take my hat off to Nick he did indeed get his money. But at what cost?
