Stole from my room

Stole from my room

My experience was very positive at the resort until I realized that my Bluetooth headphones were stolen from my room by resort staff. I cannot tell you how many times we would get back to my room and there would be someone in out room for one reason or another (housekeeping, mini bar replenishment, turn down service, and other random maintenance issues that we knew nothing about). At the time I thought nothing of it other than a little inconvenient, however, when I went to pack on our last day I my Bluetooth headphones were no where to be found. I know I did not lose them because I never used them the entire trip. I unpacked them on Day 1 onto the desk and never touched them the entire week. We kept all valuables in the safe (jewelry, cash, phones, etc) but never thought to keep my headphones in there (worth about $200). I filed a report on the last day but knew I'd never see them again. The concierge took my report on a random piece of notebook paper that I'm sure never got looked at once I walked away.

Since my trip I have tried to come to a resolution with the resort but they just dodge every attempt of communication. When I got home I googled other reviews and it appears this is a theme at this resort. That is to say "not obvious" but somewhat valuable items going missing from rooms. For example, headphones, sunglasses, articles of clothing...things that people probably do not put in the safe and also may not make a huge fuss over. Do not stay here as I'm sure there are plenty of other options with better integrity than this place, but if you must, keep everything in the safe and keep a close eye on your belongings.
