Would rate zero if i could. Me and my friend decided to go out for evening meal and knowing my love for persian food we decided to go Colbeh after reading amazing reviews.
We walked in at about 7.30pm to see the place empty with just two couples sitting in. Initially nobody approached us but I could see a lady setting a table and when she noticed us she just stared at us like we are some aliens. Eventhough i was the customer! I had to approach and say hello can we have a for table for two to which the woman said no hello or you alright there or sorry just gave us a weird face and said have you booked which I obviously said no (doesn t really say anywhere we are supposed to prebook), she just goes we have no table , to which I replied oh so we are supposed to have booking to eat in and she said yeah like we are some idiots. At this point I never felt so uncomfortable, which customers staring at us, mind you the worker stood couple of meters away so she was speaking across from middle of restaurant as opposed to approaching us.
As a business I understand there may have been a policy for prebooking before coming but I d least expect some professionalism like or tellin us in a polite manner. Anyways we walked towards Shiraz, another Persian restaurant fee doors away to see fully packed out but we tried our luck and were welcomed and were greeted with smile - eventhough they literally had one table availble and informed us they have fee booking, they kindly squeezed us in & I probably had one of the best food in a very long time and were offered delicious complimentary sweet dish and green tea (will definitely be visitng them again!) We were done in about 40-50 minutes, while walking back to our car when we looked into Colbeh, the restaurant was still more than half empty so really don t understand why they were so awkward for.
