Wow! What a wonderful experience. We had the pleasure of having afternoon tea in the library on a beautiful Monday afternoon. The whole ambience was very opulent and relaxed. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. There was a lovely selection of sandwiches and individual desserts, presented in a very elegant way. The loose-leaf tea was a particular highlight! We didn t feel rushed and eventually, after our second pot of tea, we set off to explore the stunning surroundings, which are always gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this as a special treat. We were celebrating 21 years of being together.
Very nice location, with huge gardens, large and elegant tea rooms and a wedding service that seems to be managed very well. Quality of the traditional menu is not great, even considering the low price (around 25 pounds)
Lovely rose gardens but need to visit earlier in the year for better display at flowers at end of flowering
Went to join in with wynards 'best of British but felt the day was poorly out together and hard to find where all the different vendors.
Could not fault. Lovely spa, amazing rooms and the food is great
Recommend for a special day out lovely countryside surrounding reaice
We booked a special deal for my Daughters birthday. The Spa experience was lovely and the cottage we stayed in was amazing, but we weren't impressed with the afternoon tea, the breakfast and some of the waiter/waitress service
Beautiful building and surroundings however the spa staff leave a lot to be desired , their attitudes are as plastic as their faces !

Amazing afternoon tea! Could not fault the service.the surroundings and ambience are wonderful.
Lovely building and grounds. Historic building which made for a beautiful wedding.
I had afternoon tea here and it was really lovely. Such a nice place.
Absolute epic place. Me and my fiance just went for a drink and the nice view out the back. It's abit pricey but you would expect this for the standard.
Would definately recommend for a look around and a drink
Visited Wynyard hall for afternoon tea. Sandwiches were not nice, seasonal but not very appetising. Desert's were very nice as was the selection of cakes. Coffee was cold on serving but was replenished with fresh and hot to drink. Staff were very accomodating and helpful, however dinning room temperature was cold. I would go back again when it was less crowded on a Christmas fair day.
Love this place came to the gin festival with my husband was a beautiful summer evening sat in the gorgeous well looked after cared for gardens. Very pleasant night great gin lots of local products and great street food options.
Afternoon tea with mother.
This is a great venue for afternoon tea. The staff are lovely and attentive. The building is astonishing, I could spend hours looking at the decor.
Mother has various food intolerances, hence this was her first afternoon tea..
The staff were fantastic,.they practically developed a new menu for her. So she could could still enjoy it. Which she did and she loved it.
So thank you to all the staff, you were great.
Attended a family wedding at this venue. Is is an amazing hotel, with amazing decor and attention to detail. The staff were attentive and made this magical day very special.
The wedding breakfast was first class, food was superb, and the service 5 Star.
Evening entertainment was very entertaining and was very well enjoyed by all,
Overall this is an extra special hotel.
Lovely place and setting - totally spoilt by 2 things .......
1. MUZAK!! Why, oh why have horrible and completely unnecessary muzak everywhere - even in the toilets!!! A sure sign of a vulgar and common place!
2. FAR too many 'speed bumps' on the approach road - spoilt the enjoyment of the drive - and totally unnecessary! In such a 'Stepford Wives' setting, who is going to speed???? Perhaps I should sue them for damage to my suspension as I've heard people have done to some Councils?
Literally love this place. Love the atmosphere, love the tea, love everything about it.
For that something special. Great setting, food was exceptional and the staff are excellent, give it a go. I would highly recommend.
Went there for a ball. It was a lovely atmosphere and the grounds are absolutely fantastic.
Great place a stay friendly professional staff. a great 3 course meal. We would recommend wynyard hall
Visited Wynyard Hall Spa for my wife's birthday treat and the venue and location is second to none!
A beautiful garden well worth a visit. Tea room very good.
Great venue with impressive gardens and serene views
I recently attended a Ball in the Grand Marquee and I've got to say the night was amazing excellent service and wonderful staff. Thank you Wynyard Hall can't wait for the next one. X
A beautiful location for a meeting. Great catering and a super dinner.
Love this place. Such stunning architecture & restoration. Staff so very polite & helpful. Food in Wellington Restaurant always rich in flavour and well presented - except today some things were missing from the plates I.e. Yorkshire puddings from a Sunday lunch. Very crazy mistake to make. Easily accessible and comfortable.
This was gift from parent (l am childminder)just perfect nothing was to much trouble for the staff will recommend
Fantastic facial at wynyard spa. Relaxing and skin feels amazing. Perfect at anytime but especially at this time of year.
Lovely place.. Spotlessly clean the staff are helpful and friendly
Nice spa
Could not fault the evening meal.. It was beautiful
The breakfast however was cold which let our visit down
Beautiful building, had a quick tour with my partner today with no trouble, the cafe had the best coffee ive had in aclong time
Not as good as expected. Prices are high for very slow service and cold tea. Although, tea was replaced after complaining, shame couldn't speed up the service. Views and surrounding were superb.
There s nothing to fault.
I stayed here with my partner and we were pleasantly greeted & showed to our room.
The room was so clean & fresh with an amazing view. It has everything we needed and more. A perfect size and the bed was also very comfortable (for me as I like hard beds).
The grounds were full of walks and the gardens are very beautiful.
We also ate here and couldn t fault the food or service! I even got a compliment!
I would definitely stay here again & it is well worth the price.
I paid less than what is advertised as I booked a room through Hotels.Com which has amazing photos of inside & out.
Very upmarket but friendly place, beautiful building
Had a beautiful afternoon tea in stunning surroundings
Staff are super friendly and can't do enough for you. Even though the place was fully booked it felt very quiet which was nice. Would definitely recommend highly.
Attended a Christmas party in the grand marquee and was very disappointed with the service provided and length of time taken to get food to the customers
Loved the setting and lot here. Rooms and decor are beautiful. I felt like I was staying in a Victorian Era-residence...straight out of Pride and Prejudice. But to have such a nice hotel and room, why is there no fridge or mini bar? It would have been nice to have for all my leftovers. The meals are quite large. I wasted a lot of food.
Long queues to get in at 10am and all morning. Wasted a lot of time waiting to park. Not enough indoor eating areas, cafes etc with seating. Much more seating needed everywhere. But actual market and all stalls were very good. Great for Xmas presents. Good variety.
Hosting South Durham Hunt Ball, a hunt with a less than unblemished reputation.
Excellent hotel. Great rooms with fabulous breakfast.
Booked a hot tub cottage for my friend's birthday. Been a couple of times before and always had a fantastic time. Went ice skating this year and loved in. Lovely atmosphere, staff are really helpful. Lovely place.
Attended a wedding at the Hotel and have to say it's such a beautiful hotel with great success staff.
Best place to have Indian wedding in the North East.
My sister reception was held here. Best venue ever
Such a relaxing place, the staff were friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. Came away feeling totally relaxed
Enjoyed a lovely facial followed by lunch cannot fault the staff very attentive
Visited Wynyard Hall one Saturday for afternoon tea. Helpful staff and no fuss service. Good selection of sandwiches, cakes, and scones.
The best facial I've had, fabulous building, gorgeous surroundings and great service at lunch!
The Grand Marquee is an amazing space for functions and the walled garden is beautiful.
Fabulous grounds, well thought out event definitely be going again
Excellent most relaxing place ever been to.
The Rose gardens are Magnificent. Lots of places to just sit and enjoy the views, tea and refreshments excellent and good value.
Mam, my sister and I thought we would only be there a couple of hours. 6 Hour's later, on our way home.
After trying to find out the information the staff I spoke to on the phone were very very rude . And not professional for there role the afternoon tea I received on my last vist was not up to standards of place I love I have been put of massively after I have used wynyard Hall for weddings birthdays over night stays spars .
Attended the Christmas fayre in the beautiful surroundings of Wynyard Hall. Parking close by, very muddy but lots of grip sheets down for cars to park on. Stalls were varied but too many people, couldn't get round properly which was a shame. The hall is beautiful, very friendly staff, and lovely good in the garden cafe
Had a lovely day at the Xmas Fayre. It was very busy though at 11.ooam with people queueing to get into the hall. We decided to start at the top end and work our way down to the hall which was much quieter by then. Lots to see and some good food if looking for xmas presents. A very pleasant day out.
Victorian type, big size rooms and great service. The location is in the center of a park, away from the city, peace and quiet.
Great lunch in the cafe. Regular visitor and always impressed !
