Overall, there’s potential, but more consistency and support would make a difference. 📉
Good institutions, well cared for biuldings but some personnel especially security do not communicate well in english which is a disadvantage for internationals
The management is incompetent and lazy ever since the lockdown has started I have requested them to kindly activate my student email nobody responds to my emails when i call nobody answers now I can t get access to my student permit so that I can get screened I cannot enter the school because I have not been screened and do not have a permit nobody is willing to help I ve been coming to campus to get assisted but they refuse to let me enter or have somebody come and assist me
This is very disheartening that they do not take students requests seriously I m disheartened by their non response to what students request
Some call it a university, I call it a "noise club". Frequent parties resulting in public drinking and loud noise in the surrounding neighborhood. Students walking in the middle of the street and management that does not care about anything but their own salaries. Drunk driving around this area is quite frequent and common as are accidents resulting from it. Student accommodation popping up everywhere causing even more problems. Luckily very few make it past their first year and then they take off again, only for another lot of noise makers to move in.
I studied at Vaal..I have a friend who is about to finish his b tech only two subjects left, he is repeating this subjects so he was told he need to make an appeal and submit it to admin ..when enquirering about the progress of his appeal he is sent back and forth from engineering to admin. Nobody seems to know what or where is the appeal form..please help!! This intstitution is failing students who want to complete and go on with life

Very humble institution of learning based in the Vaal. They have the most dedicated support staff, faculty and researchers working for the institution. Campus caters for students from different backgrounds and always in need of additional funding.
Not a good space, its easy to access the premises which is very dangerous for people residing in the premises and the service is slow which makes it not effective
VUT is really cool comparing it with other universities that are outside the major cities. The learning environment is also top notch regardless of the strikes that affect every other university.
I was a student there and what I can say is that every place has its own bad/good things but if you know what you want despite of all the noise, poor furniture and struggling to register and more you will get what you want... keep up the good work Vaal tech
Firstly litter everywhere, people everywhere, in and out of campus, dirty corridors, low stuff morale evident from the poor service they dish out, building run down. A real nightmare. Oh what a place!!!

This is a University you can come in and further your studies there's a lot faculty you'll be able to choose on also heard rumors that is the best Tecch is South Africa.
The once prestigious institution of higher education is going from bad to worse. The fact that it's currently under administration is testament to the poor management. Over the past years the instution has limped from the one crisis to another with staff being suspended on a regular basis.
Drove by the place today and was shocked, It looks like a dump. Litter and rubbish all over the place. I presume the rocks and bits of concrete scattered about are the leftovers of a student process. It's supposed to be a place of higher learning at least clean it up and look the part please.
VUT is one of the best Universities in South Africa, I highly recommend their IT and computer Science faculty and many more courses offered, campus life is awesome good positive vibes all around campus.
