Worked there as a last resort. Easy job but it becomes less than easy with the floor managers all over you with the cursing, bad breath from cigarettes and plain disrespect. Hours aren't guaranteed and neither is a shift. If your shift began at 5:30 pm, than your shift could virtually be over with a tap on the shoulder or your computer terminal being shut down from the floor managers computer as way to say "go home" after like an hour of work. If you are in desperate need for work, I would suggest you have very tough skin. Its a rough environment. Its really hooooooood there. The only way to get a shift or keep your job here is to either be a kiss ass or be a female willing to blow go and spread your legs. I peeped all sorts or disgusting activities there including sex in the bathroom with pot smoke flowing from a bathroom stall.

They decide to start calling way past dinner time. I've never gotten a call from them before 8:45 and whenever I don't pick up the phone, they'll just call again within the next minute even though I'm on the do not call list. Sometimes they'll also leave a voice message of them chewing on the microphone or messing with a candy wrapper for no apparent reason if I don't answer the call.

Well boys n girls, these filthy gutter-slime, bich punqs finally got my number as well. I am in mourning over the loss of my best friend and one caring parent, I don't need this schitt.

They are calling every NIGHT now, as late as 21:30 or 22:00. Due to the overwhelming increasing amount of telemarketing calls, we screen ALL calls and do not respond to any 800 #'s, unknown callers, private callers or any number we don't recognize that shows up on our caller I.D. And like most of you, they don't leave messages.

We the people have the power, we need to make ALL FORMS OF TELEPHONE CALLS TO OUR HOMES FROM STRANGERS 100% ILLEGAL. We are PAYING for our telephone service, we have the right to see every number that comes in. Things need to change people. Elect me president, I will evoke Executive Privilege and make many changes for the better of America OVER NIGHT.

Overall, the job is OKAYYY, and I use emphasis on this word because most of the time when I call numbers, I get a lot of voice mails and answering machines, I get a lot of respondents who scream and yell and curse me out and it makes me angry how people can be so rude when I try to explain to them that "I'm just doing my job. This is what I have to do." AND, the team leaders are too harsh. One of the team leaders yesterday interrupted me while I was on a call and asked if I worked a day shift earlier, I told him yes, I work Saturdays during the day from 10am until 5pm. He said, no that he meant earlier yesterday during the daytime, and he kept shouting at me. I still had the phone up to my ear. So I got upset and raised my voice at him. Why would he ask that question when he KNOWS that the only day shift I work is on Saturday? It makes no sense. And he and one of the supervisors sent me home for being "rude" and "disrespectful" when I was not trying to be. I was trying to explain to both of them that I work during the day on Saturdays ONLY. It's ridiculous. They are really harsh and they shouldn't be. Plus when it's the two-hour mark and you haven't done any surveys, they send you right on home without pay. It's ridiculous. But I'm trying to earn this money because I got referred here from the Back-To-Work Program on 125th street in Harlem and it's the first job I've had in my life. And Universal Survey Center is closing down in October. Well, good, because this place.... *sigh* I don't need to say any more.

I remember working working at this place a few years ago. Needless to say I am not a bit surprised by the comments that I have read. Total disrespect is the norm in this facility. Betcha still have to use regular phones to hold to your head and can barely get a break in the place. The quality leaders and product leaders are unprofessional and disrespect you like crazy just for you to read verbatim and make rate on $7 an hour and treat you like garbage when you ask for help. A total disgrace.

if you want to work by sitting at a computer screen, answering phones having to deal with people over the phone who do not want to take a survey or have the time, and possibly be sent home for not making rate then this is the place for you. They fire and hire people a lot. They let go people if they even they don't make the appropriate rate or give them probation to improve. The people there whom work day shift are stuck up thinking they have to shout while during a survey is something to make them feel important when most of the time they do is either chat with their fellow co workers or with other supervisors and look at their phones but god forbid you look at your phone they scold you in an instant they get anal about phone usage and bathroom breaks. They are also distasteful in their taste of wardrobe. You want to have a boss who cares little effort you put into what you do for 5 hours then consider coming here. The pay is lousy and bi weekly. And they hire practically anyone whether they are 90 and almost close to death or 20 and unintelligent. I suggest for a first timer working they can learn a lot of social skills at a fast food restaurant than here unless you like messy bathrooms and unhygienic refrigerators and microwave. I've worked there for a year and it was lousy then its gonna remain lousy. If you get stuck working the night shift its a 1000 times worse. You have no room to eat in the break room and almost everyone working is either rude or crude.

Ver negative experience. They fire you for any little thing. Overall the supervisors are very lousy, there is just too much favoritism there. If they dont like you, they will give you a very hard time so that you will wish you were never there. They will write you up for basically nothing .There is practically no room for advancement and forget about even wanting a promotion. You have to be willing to kiss ass or spread your legs to move ahead. One of the lowest places on earth, which is quite pathetic because I had a lot of nice co workers who had my back.

This is a terrible place to work. It is a minimum wage job and your not guaranteed hours. If they don't have enough work for you, they send you home(without pay). The back office's attitude towards the interviewers are degrading. The owners don't give a darn about anything but their own bank accounts. They expect miracles and exhaust the telephone samples given and instruct the PD's to keep using the same numbers and keep calling the same people who don't want to do surveys. They put them on "refusal lists". The owners of Universal don't care about harassing the people they have the center call, and its the interviewers that have to be cursed out and degraded by these people being harassed. VP's have also instructed Production Leaders to falsify surveys to make production so they don't lose clients. PD's have falsified at home, the owners know and when they are caught by the client, they fire the person they instructed to falsify.

Operators call for 7 hour shifts, ending at 10 PM for each time zone. Operators have no control over who they call when.... the system controls everything. The "system" has a "take me off your list" selection, a frequent response, but the operator has no control over whether that's enforced, or how long it will take to happen. And of course, the surveys themselves are completely asinine and usually deal with shopping and consumer habits - probably about 1 out of every 10 surveys actually carries some political relevance. (But when you hear "public opinion polls" mentioned on TV, you know how they get those results!) The experience I had here, a job sent directly from the "public assistance" center, was very educational for how polls are (still) conducted. Just don't get mad at the person on the phone -- s/he doesn't have much choice.

The ONLY valuable service this place provides is a job for people who have nothing else.

Wow! People seems hate this place, but it is perfect place for me to improve my English.
I don't like their bathroom, but I believe that this job will prepare new skill sets for my next job. It is interesting job to call up strangers and ask questions. I just started liking this job, asking questions to strangers and get responses. Sometimes respondents start to talk about themselves and I can feel that they are having a good time talking to me.
Plus My co-worker telephone operators are friendly and fun.

Awesome time as an employee here. Started out as an 'interviewer' earning minimum wage working 37 hours weekly. Quite swiftly, i was 'Upgraded' to be an interviewer on Universal Survey Center's MAJOR survey for AT&T. THIS survey was THE survey of ALL surveys, that from start to finish, reading VERBATIM (from script), it lasts a total of 37 minutes plus minus. Just as quick, i landed in the top 5 humans whom would bang out a sum of 10 a night. I genuinely enjoyed the job and the 'ride' of energy while conducting AT&T's survey. Soon after, 3 months maybe...i interviewed for a 'Quality Leader' position and was offered that position, which i then accepted.

Very unprofessional place .. You get sent home in you dont get a survey atthe rate they give .. They pay 8.00 and sometimes try to rob you of hours.. The supervisors are very trashy and unprofessional.. The place is full of crackheads convicts and crazy people and they dont care about whats happening at home as long as you come and work like a slave.

these friggin' people just DON'T QUIT!!!! Told them at 3:30 TODAY to never call again at 4:30 TODAY they called again from a different number. They called every single day of my vacation and never left a message (caller ID). And I'm on the Do No Call list.
Currently in the process of blocking both numbers they have called me from!

I hated working here , they push you to do the nearly impossible. Trying to get someone to stay on the phone to answer repetitive questions and pray every second that they don't hang up. You don't get a call by 1 you get sent home. You get at least 1 you stay and drag your day on until 4:30 trying to get more calls.

Supposedly they were shutting down shop come November. I left months ago so idk. I say don't do it.
