Very helpful folks, even for a beginner like myself. They were very patient, and took the time to listen to everything I had to ask.

I love The Fly Shop! I ordered my first fly rod from them in June in preparation for my first fly fishing trip ever. During a practice casting session in the front yard the tip of my brad new rod snapped. I called the Fly Shop and talked to Kyle. He over nighted a new tip for me so I would receive it in time for my trip! Customer for life!!!

I placed an order, and checked online to get tracking info for my upcoming and last fishing trip of the season (maybe). Couldnt find a tracking number, so I called up. Christina was incredibly helpful, tracked my package down and asked me when would I be going fishing......I said this weekend. It was Wednesday. She said it wont make it. She then re-filled a new order, sent it overnight so that it would make it by thursday and I would be safe for my fishing trip. That's customer service!!!

I'm a complete fly fishing rook. Was recommended to this place and they did not disappoint. Very patient, helpful, and knowledgeable and totally willing to answer my basic questions and provide some guidance in buying a reel. If you are anywhere near this place make it a point to stop by. If not, get a catalog immediately because these guys are an excellent resource.

It s a well-stocked shop and the staff members are very friendly, helpful, and forthcoming with good information. We we also fortunate to meet Mike Michilak, the owner, who is a great guy! We ll definitely be repeat customers.

Had a great time. In from Hot 'Lanta and had an awesome day even though the fishing was rated "fair"! Never fly fished, truely green behind the ears! Mike explained everything, had me practise then we went fishing! Had a strike and missed it royally! Mike my guide, teacher, and friend. Yes I would consider him a friend! Said well somethings there so ho rowed up stream to where we started and we started all over. Next 2 hits I landed 2 trout mo shorter than 18 inches. Overall, I caught 15 to 20 trout. Had a great experience! I welcomed the end only because my back started hurting and I started getting tired! I am hoping to get up there one more time before I leave the San Fran area!

This is my favorite place to go spend money. Hard to earn but real easy to let go of in this shop. All the staff are helpful and know what they are talking about. They have the biggest selection of everything fly related out of any shop I've ever been into. Prices are the same as on the internet and even if they were a bit hiked up I think it's important everybody supports their local fly shop. Sandy is the most knowledgeable and understanding person I've ever met. He's helped me so much. If you don't buy anything at least get a hat to rep the best fly shop in the country.

Absolutely love this place and all they have to offer. I first learned of the fly shop in 2010 as a camper at their fish camp. That was awesome and since then I've come back for gear, tying equipment and even on the way to more of their lodges and land! Everytime I feel welcomed and am gracious for the knowledge and helpfulness of the staff both on the phone and in the store. Lovely gem in the middle of California!

I'd like to give them a better review but whoever answers the emails and questions about orders sucks. They have great products and from other reviews their customer service is great in store. But my experience with them online doesnt share that same great customer service. I guess maybe if I was spending my thousand$ on their gear it maybe different. But the most I spend with them is a couple hundred on flies that are out of stock where I live. The girl who answers the emails is always short and seems irritated to have to do her job. Or....she's on the rag every time I have to email them. Either way they need to find another email - order girl or someone give her a midol or pamperin. But I do get what I order, I'll give her that, other than that sometimes I'll get a wrong size 16 or 18.

I want to start out by saying that because of the fly shop, my brother and I are now closer then we have ever been. It's all thanks to their helpful staff that went the extra mile to ensure that our trip was made special. I wanted to take my brother fly fishing for the first time. I myself knowing very little felt overwhelmed. A friend who's a local here all his life told me to stop on by and talk to the guys in the shop. Needless to say I'm glad I did. To make this trip even more special I was asking my brother to be my best man. We had hardly any tackle, no flies, and one rod with a toasted reel. The guys there made sure that we had everything we needed. They didnt over sell us just made sure we had enough to get us into some fish. They even pointed us to spots on the sac and recommending times of day and evening to go. My brother and I now share the love of fly fishing together and plan to make a trip every year as a new brotherly tradition. I can't say how grateful I am to the staff at the fly shop for their outstanding service but also their compassion and empathy. Truly, a class act.
