SUNY Ulster

Wish I could give it zero stars. Staff and teachers at this school ruined it for me. They were no help at all and overly disrespectful.

Peaceful environment, helpful teachers! A lot of newer students complain that they are not handed information or being informed of certain aspects of their semester. I felt this way at first until I realized... this is college! It takes a lot of work and effort to keep up with emails, the portal, etc. You have to really bust your ass to make sure you have all your paper work in and take the time to make calls. Although it may seem like it takes forever, financial aid is processed and you are able to access the portal to seek important news and advisor information. I believe this is a great starter school to begin your college career. Good luck!

If I could give this school zero stars I would. I have had nothing but problems since I've started here. I wasn't informed I was accepted, about courses being cancelled, what my major was, who my advisor was, or that they didn't have my major when I transferred in. I also was not informed of fees I had to pay or the deadline to pay them so instead of being informed and paying they unregistered me from the courses I was supposed to take. They drag their feet to let you know anything and when you try to get information you get nothing but attitude and rudeness. Two faculty members go well above and beyond what they had to in an attempt to help me but I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. This college made me absolutely despise college and learning which is a first for me. Avoid this school at all costs.

Do not go here, every semester there was an issue with my schedule, the staff is overall rude (minus a few good teachers) and they messed up my graduation twice! Incompetent, rude, and lousy. Go to dutchess instead

ulster sucks and it made me hate myself in ways i did not know possible. i strongly do not recommend this school. although it is cheap, choose somewhere else. dutchess is cheaper!

Non stop harassment from security about being 30 mins early for class.

Cute campus, nice people, and helping teachers. I am in my 2nd year in the vet tech program and I currently work at the school book store. Everyone has been so helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this college.

People say it's like "13th grade" but if you give it a chance and get involved it's a great place to meet people and make friends. Make sure the classes you take will transfer to the 4 year school you want and know that these courses are pretty easy compared to that in other colleges. I've heard of people not expecting new paltz to be harder and fall behind or can't handle the workload.

Really great to have a college like this so close to where I live, really nothing to complain about, I don't feel like I'm compromising even though tuition is cheap.
