One of the best Steak restaurants in Oslo! Fantastic cote de beouf and a good albeit quite seriously priced selection of wines.
Staff gave off a French bistro feel - playing a little hard-to-get, but very effective when mobilised.
The bill for a very satisfied bunch of 7 hungry eaters came to NOK 9.100 not including tip.
Recommended. Need to book in advance.

Fantastic food and service. Good wine list. The menu leans heavily on meat. Some shellfish too. Serve spectacularly. Fantastic bearnaise and bordelaise for the Cote de boeuf that I eat. Very good garlic fries. The meat itself was perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The portions are relatively large, so get really hungry. Good starters and desserts, but didn't try any of them this time. The Cote de boeuf on St. Lars should be on your bucket list. Absolutely magical.

Had a very pleasant evening here with family and got top service and very good food. Only negative was that the food was too hard salted, which you noticed the next day. Especially the potato dishes. Then it was also difficult to enjoy the wine to the fullest.

Gives whatever the top score for perfectly grilled meat and lovely lamb. But the entrees were also impressive and the Chipotle power of the mussels was extremely cool. Very nice people who served us at the perfect pace and with a watchful eye. The wine list is suitably large and sorted nicely by price, which makes it easy for most people to choose a bottle. The selection is also good.

We can start with the best of the service. Here there was absolutely nothing to complain about, but then we come to the food. It is possible that we were very unfortunate or that I am picky, but you do not need to rummage a tartar. About 50% of the meat was tendons. The next dish was entrecote, this followed the tartar and was tough and almost inedible. Heard a lot good, very disappointed.

Went there for family dinner, and we love the food! I ordered the steak, and it's so good I want to lick my plate! The garlic fries was really good as well. Didn't really like the bearnaise, though. I think it overpower the steak. Still, super happy with the food!

The food was decent enough. No great experience, but the acoustics in the room are the worst I have been to. Would not recommend others to go there because of. noise. There is almost no way to talk in this room. For 2 - 3,000, - they could have solved that problem.

St. Lars has become a very popular place, and rightly so. Nice service and tasty and exciting European food. Plus, it was possible to get one of the dishes from the regular four-course menu as their own main course - in this case it was an absolutely lovely slow-roasted lamb with a mild tomato salsa. Extra plus we got more potato and sauce on request - without frills or plus on the bill.

We had the st.lars-menu, and it was delicious!! Tons of food though (had to get a doggy bag...)
Specially the lamb is very very good, and the wine-package is extremely recommendable. The staff is very friendly and we got good service, though they seemed quite stressed out at times

Food 5, service 5, atmosphere 4.5
Delicious food. Quick service with attentive waiters who had good recommendations for wine for the food. A bit noisy in the room. But it didn't matter to us.

Hello Andreas!
I am a very big fan of your show on PBS here in SW Florida, Naples...WGCU TV, and i have cooked a couple of your ways of french frying baked/cooked potato's & simply love the flavors, and to watch you cook on Tuesday & Thursday's is simply something i look forward to each week! I love how Beautiful Norway is, and i do appreciate the history you pass along during each presentation! I can only imagine how wonderful it is to actually eat at St. Lars in Oslo...i hope to visit one day, but in the meantime, just a few lines of Thanks as well, you make watching so interesting that i wish you were on for a full hour, rather than just 30 minutes...Also, having the girls cooking as well on the TV, i love the beauty they bring with the food & breads they cook is nothing short of a joyous experience! Thanks again, My Best to you all, Stewart Martin Speight, Naples, Fl.!

As a self-proclaimed burger connoisseur, I have longed to try their burger. As expected and the tip, it tasted exquisite! I called in 1 hour before, got a table without a problem. Good fries, fast serving and not least down to earth and professional staff. Highly recommended, and I dare say this is Oslo's best burger experience!
Funny thing: tomato, salad, onion, and pickles are added next door, so the customer is free to choose.

Barbecue food served in a Rock 'n Roll environment with high noise level and hectic activity. Intimate and atmospheric room. Good flavors, but king crab was more work than sustenance. The Martini Espresso was tasteless and flat. But whatever a great evening we had here.

Very well grilled meat (extremely hot grill). Fantastic good whole grilled piglet, but note that it must be ordered at least five days in advance. Like the atmosphere in the restaurant and the wait staff and the chef take the time to turn down a chat. Good wine list with good recommendations for the dishes. A little on the more expensive side, but in this case worth it!
