Took some coworkers into NYC for dinner, got off the PATH at Christopher St and walked up Hudson. Within 3 blocks we stumbled into Spasso. Great pasta. Really nice waitress. Best Pino Grigio I have ever had. Cheese plate was intense. The prices were very reasonable. Will go back.
Very crowded and noisy but overall pretty good. Although in an area within a seemingly large number of quality italian restaurants, I'm not sure this stood out to me. The Orecchiette w/ shrimp, crab, bottarga & white wine that I ordered was quite good and I'd definitely recommend it.

Sat once at the bar at Spasso - a great experience, which I would highly recommend. The other time I sat at a table in the window - also great. The food is delectable and the service is professional.
The pastas here are outstanding, and the room is warm and romantic except for the fact it's a notch too noisy. Months later and I'm still craving the fussili in pork ragu with goat cheese and mint.
I dined here using a GILT coupon. Although we had a bit of of trouble with the reservation, everything else was handled professionally and efficiently. The waiter was quite educated on the dishes and the coupon itself. I left satisfied and yearning my next visit.
Forget customer service, I tied up my dog outside and they tried to give her boiling hot water. I burned my fingers when I realized... terrible people.
