Sierra Trading Post

This place has really gone downhill. They now sell cheap parts and parts that are defective, and or break easily. I bought a set of clipless pedals for a new mountain bike on April 23rd. Today is June 15th. The things broke within 2 weeks of having them. I knew one was hard to clip out of, but I never checked it until I simply couldn t clip in. I ve had clipless pedals for years and have never broken them. I tried to return them, and was told to contact XLC, the company that makes the pedals. I can t even find a contact on this company s website. I ve spend a lot of money in Sierra trading pst and will not be going back. I hope you guys finally close for good.

The Sierra Trading Post has great discounts on camping gear and household things outdoor shoes close and oddly enough it's the best deal on dog's toys I bought most of my camping gear here and I buy a lot of dog toys here and I saved a bunch over other sporting good stores

You need to shop, but you will find some great deals here. Staff was helpful.

I was a bit disappointed at the selection of shoes available in the men's section. I remember them having an excellent collection and now not so much. Lots of other good stuff tho

Killer selection of outdoor and athletic clothing and supplies. It also has a lot of cool homewares and personal supplies as well. Friendly, and helpful staff.

I had a very horrible experience online with sierra trading post. They did not have the item in my size online so they said that I had to order from a store. I live in California and there were no stores available so I ordered from the Reno store. (I have relatives in Reno I was going to visit soon soon so I asked if they could pick the item up). I was told that they could not pick it up without the confirmation online (receipt) sent to them by email and brought in. BUT they were having problems sending confirmations. I did not get one and when I chatted with them online they still could not send it. I was told that this was not just me having problems. Many others were having problems as well. The lady on chat said that she could cancel my order. How is that going to help? The sale I bought it from ended the day before. To reorder it would cost more. I still wanted the item. The lady on chat said that the shoes were sent and would be there at the Reno Store soon. I was like what? If they can send them to the store why cant they send them to my house? Also Reno store said they had them in stock when I called them earlier.
The online said that the order would be ready in 2 hours because they had it in stock already. When I called Reno again they said they did not have it and would have to wait for it to be shipped. I was so frustrated! Liz in the Reno store was very helpful however and said she would ship the item to California because she was so sorry that this whole thing happened. She could not send me a confirmation either but she would just forgo the whole relative pick up and send it to me at my home so it would be here in time for my daughters birthday! Thanks Liz!

Lots of closeout items from name brands... the selection is large but varies. Very good prices if you find something that works for you.

Looks like the outdoors version of a Marshall's or such. Didn't find what I was looking for.

Great name brand merchandise and great prices. Store is nicely laid out. This is the only brick and mortar store that carries ladies Smart Wool socks in small size.

This is an overstock reseller, so their inventory is not super consistent, but they have a bunch of stuff and a friendly staff to help answer any questions or find what you need.

Nice store, decent customer service, ok selection. Down side is they don't carry hardly any tall men's stuff. Wish they would start...

Good deals on outdoor equipment. Shoes, clothing, other hiking accessories.

This place used to rock but that was when they pushed 25-35% coupons a lot. There's no more coupons since TJX took over and so now the prices aren't particularly low - we used to literally spend thousands there each year and now, maybe a couple hundred.

They have high-quality merchandise at reasonable prices and great sales.

They used to be a good mountain persons place. Maybe they had you're size maybe not. But no more boxes of mountain toys. Just a bunch of foo foo things. No climbing gear. 45 minutes from Tahoe side country and not one ski or snowboard carry system available on any backpack. Climbing section is a joke and no real mountaineering supplies.

Large selection of clothes and shoes but the outdoor equipment selection was rather limited.

Come here every fall. Great quality excellent prices, easy to find color coded sizes.

A clearance store for retail chains, selling premium brand products at discount.
Clean and organized, with knowledgeable and helpful staff. *Buy it when you see it, they may not get the product in again.

A limited selection of items that they carry in their online store, this place gives you a chance to try things on, though the selection is sometimes odd. If you are an extra small of 2xl you might find something in your size or you might get lucky, you never know. Very nice staff, easy to get around.

They need to change the name to Sierra home furnishings.

I love their website. Store has nothing in stock in comparison. Been in 3 times, never bought anything.

They don't always have a everything in the size you want but when they do the prices are fantastic.

My favorite store outdoor work and hunting clothing. My wife and I have saved so much money shopping here. The staff is always very helpful and courteous.

Sucks they got bought out but the reno location is still great for out door gear.

This is a unique place as far as its availability of product. I went in there looking for a specific style of hiking pack and they didn't have it available for purchase either in store or online. So I went to browse some of the shoes also out of my size in basically every hiking boot I liked. Very minimal amount of gear you can get here. Customer service was good though.

Has the stuff I need but it was discounted a size 6 in men's hiking boots was 160$ but it's the place to go for outdoor stuff cus we have no bass pro shop on reno

Best place to buy outdoor wear. You can get cheaper prices at Wal-Mart, but this is better stuff. I bought a tent here that lasted for years, and was much cheaper in the long run than a cheap tent that I had to buy over and over again!

Found a nice winter jacket here 3 years ago and just replaced it with another latest iteration of the same. Very nice outdoor supply and apearel store. Now a favorite. Very good prices too.

They have some really cute tops for women and clothes. I was under the WRONG impression that they would have out doors types of plain clothing only but it's actually some fashion in this place that you can't find ANYWHERE else in Reno. Thank you!
