Charming place for a quick lunch, snack, and of course pie. There aren't any vegetarian or vegan options. So, I ordered a veggie pizza without cheese. The crust was tad salty, but had the perfect "chew"- not too soft/not too crisp. The pies looked great and people appeared to enjoy their generous slices. I loved the atmosphere, service, and wall art.
Friendly staff, great food, good price. Must do for Greensboro.
It is worth the trip to Greensboro just to eat at Pie Lab. The fried chicken wrap is a delicious mix of Southern and Mexican. It was fresh, hot and a delight. Served with mixed fruit that was fresh, crisp and still cool. My wife had the salad plate. She enjoyed it. I tried a bite of the chicken salad. It was mostly chicken, thick, hardy and wonderful. Our son ate every morsel of his grilled cheese. Then the pie, the blessed pie. We all shared two slices (huge wedge). First the carrot cake pie with a dollop of cream cheese frosting. It was unusual for pie. Somewhat like cake with a pie crust and very tasty. The other was lemon ice box. It was thick as cheesecake. No marange topping to interfere with the cool tartness of the lemon body of pie. The crust was flakey, moist and held together. It was a great support and delivery mechanism for the amazing burst of chewy lemonade.
My only complaint was they were out of XL t-shirts.
Delicious food with even better pies! Love the decor of the restaurant as well!
Can I give 10 stars? Delicious breakfast. The pies are UH-MAZING!!! Worth driving across two counties for. The employees are awesome. I love this place.
I was looking for a pie for my father's birthday not only did they make one for me they brought it to a place closer to me. Amazing! So kind and helpful! I would refer to anyone to them! The best!
The crust is fantastic. In general, I dislike crust, but this was light and like nothing I had ever tasted before. I'm dreaming of the crust it was so delicious.
We always love the Pie Lab. The Brown Sugar Buttermilk pie is my favorite.
My family and I had lunch here after hearing good things about it. The fried green tomato BLT was delicious, and the pasta salad was amazing. A few of us tried the cucumber salad, with mixed reviews. It was very vinegary, which some of us enjoyed and some did not. My daughter loved the tomato soup and grilled cheese and my son liked the chicken salad. We also tried the pimento cheese sandwich, but were not impressed with it. Make sure to ask about side item options, because there are a few different choices. We were a bit confused when we ordered pie to be told that they only had a couple of pieces available, when we could see several whole pies on a cooling rack. We were told that they would not cut those pies but we could buy a whole pie and cut it ourselves. We were interested in just a few slices rather than an entire pie, so we took the 3 pieces (pineapple chess and buttermilk)that were available. They were good, although not exactly what we would have chosen. The staff were polite, although they did not seem to be very excited to be there. On the way out both my daughter and I thanked them, with no response from any of the people working.
Purchased a pie through a fund raiser and the topping on pie fell apart and crumbled, the crust of the pie was soooo hard had to get a heavy chef knife to cut. It was a chocolate chess pie, but definitely not even near the consistency of pies i have had. Always had heard it had fabulous pies, this wasnt and for the twenty two dollar cost even as a fund raising project, i would just give the whole 22 dollars to the project and no pie.
